Queer Fear: JENNIFER’S BODY

Start 2018 off fright with a classic story of friendship, bisexuality and man eating!

Queer Fear presents: JENNIFER’S BODY
January 11th at THE ROYAL

Pre-Show: 7:30pm

Diablo Cody’s follow-up to the smash hit Juno (starring Canadian lesbian extraordinaire Ellen Page) follows Needy (Mean Girl’s Amanda Seyfried) as she discovers her best friend – and forever girl crush – Jennifer, has become a fiercely demonic force feeding on the town’s boys after a virgin sacrifice gone wrong. Starring Megan Fox in the most deviously satisfying role of her career, the film is noted for its ferociously dark humour and one of the most publicized girl kisses in cinematic history.

A flop upon its release due to an advertisement campaign geared towards horny teenage boys instead of the queer femmes it portrays, Jennifer’s Body has become a queer cult classic with its challenging of horror gender norms (a female killer, how novel?!), exploration of sexuality and killer one-liners. Plus, it’s got a soundtrack to quench the musical thirst of any 2008 scene kid!

Join your best Ghoulfriends, as we expose the queerness of JENNIFER’S BODY with performances by some of our favourite demonic drag divas, and a few surprises along the way!

She’s not killing people, she’s killing BOYS.

*Queer Fear is a monthly screening series aimed at bringing the fiercest of horror’s skeletons out of the closet to create an always needed dialogue and to create an evening for queers in the name of the macabre!
