Halloween III: Season of the Witch is the cream of the crop for films that gained a cult following in retrospect, because during the time of its release received it little-to-no recognition, yet now, it is widely considered to be an extremely necessary staple among ’80s horror gems. Where the predecessors in Halloween erred away from fantasy elements, Season departs from the slasher genre and follows a supernatural edge that makes it immediately unique from the rest of the franchise, and fiercely entertaining.

Every year, every child who knows somethin’ about somethin’ gets their paws on a Silver Shamrock Halloween mask. But after an incident where a man seemingly has a mental breakdown while clutching a Silver Shamrock jack-o-lantern mask, Doctor Daniel Challis begins to investigate the company. The more that Challis discovers about Silver Shamrock, the darker this film spirals downward, as he is quickly pulled into the macabre inner workings of a company hellbent on killing every child who puts one of the masks on.
